India’s FSSAI issues over 150 notices to food companies for misleading advertisements

The FSSAI has reportedly issued over 150 notices to major food business operators over misleading advertisements, false claims and labelling non-compliances of its laws and regulations in recent months. Twelve notices were issued to e-commerce companies, with one warehouse licence cancelled, while over 30 notices targeted food service establishments, with five licences suspended. FSSAI has stated that many companies have started taking corrective actions, following notice issued to these companies.
