CDSCO cancels cosmetic import registration over misleading fat-dissolving claims

The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation has cancelled a cosmetic registration after finding claims that the product “dissolves fat cells” and “reduces their size.” The authority considered these claims beyond the scope of cosmetics and found the importer’s response to the show-cause notice unsatisfactory, resulting in cancellation of the registration certificate.
