E-commerce rules amended, to take effect on 1 January 2027

The Indian Government has amended the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 through the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) (Amendment) Rules, 2026, covering pricing, sponsored listings, search results, dark patterns, product disclosures, consumer information and grievances. The amended rules have been notified and will apply from 1 January 2027.
