Government plans incentives to diversify India’s chemical exports

The government is considering policy support and financial incentives to help chemical exporters reduce dependence on the US market and expand into Europe, Southeast Asia, Africa and Latin America. The proposed product-region strategy would also encourage a shift towards higher-value specialty, green and pharmaceutical chemicals. The move could strengthen the resilience of India’s chemical sector by reducing export concentration and supporting Indian manufacturers.
