Medical practitioner registration may move to online renewal and time-bound appeals

The National Medical Commission has proposed amendments to the Registration of Medical Practitioners & Licence to Practice Medicine Regulations, 2023. The proposed amendments introduce changes to National Medical Register registration, licence renewal and appeals, including online processes and time-bound consideration of challenges to registration or licensing decisions. Stakeholders have sought an automated online renewal system and a transparent, time-bound online mechanism for challenging rejection of registration or licence applications.
