National Dental Commission directs dentists to restrict practice to their qualifications and training

The National Dental Commission (NDC) has clarified that registered dentists must perform dental procedures only within the scope of their qualifications and clinical training. In an advisory dated June 9, 2026, the Commission emphasised that dentists must adhere to these professional boundaries and should not undertake procedures beyond their training. It has asked State Dental Councils and Tribunals to issue advisories or guidelines to registered dentists, ensuring that their clinical services remain aligned with their formal qualifications and training.
