Third-party endorsements prohibited for promoting doctors’ professional services

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has clarified that doctors cannot use celebrities, influencers, patients or other third parties to promote professional services through testimonials or endorsements. The restriction aims to prevent patient solicitation and commercialisation of medical practice. Doctors and medical institutions remain responsible for promotional content they authorise or knowingly permit, including digital communications.

The restriction aims to prevent indirect advertising and preserve ethical standards in medical practice.
